Vistry And Kingston Council Secure Approval For New Homes In Cambridge Road Estate

Planning permission for 383 new homes in Kingston advances long-term estate regeneration with community and green space enhancements.

Vistry and Kingston Council have obtained reserved matters planning consent for Phase 2 of the Cambridge Road Estate regeneration in Kingston, marking a significant step in delivering 383 new homes as part of a broader 2,170-home development. This phase, designed by BPTW architects, emphasises a balanced approach with 94 council rent homes, addressing the pressing need for affordable housing within the borough.

From a construction management perspective, the project’s scope—including over 700 cycle spaces, approximately 120 parking bays, 100 new trees, and more than 2,000 square metres of play space—requires meticulous coordination to integrate residential, environmental, and community facilities effectively. The ongoing development benefits from the experience gained during Phase 1, where 250 homes were completed, and Phase 2 builds on this foundation with enhanced public realm improvements and sustainable infrastructure.

Atico Solutions recognises that successful delivery of such complex regeneration schemes hinges on robust construction management. Coordinating multiple stakeholders, managing site logistics in a densely populated area, and maintaining clear communication lines ensure that timelines and quality standards are met. This approach not only supports the council’s housing objectives but also contributes positively to the local community’s environment and amenities.
