A £45 million student housing project in Stratford will enhance local infrastructure and community amenities.
Graham has been selected to construct a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) development in Stratford, east London, with a contract value of £45 million. The project at 14 Marshgate Lane will provide 321 bedspaces designed to meet contemporary student living needs, combining cluster flats and self-contained studios. Its location benefits from close proximity to Pudding Mill Lane Docklands Light Railway station, enhancing connectivity for residents.
Beyond residential units, the development includes 294 square metres of commercial space dedicated to artists’ studios and workspaces, supporting Stratford’s vibrant creative sector. The scheme also incorporates amenities such as shared kitchens, social spaces, a gym, and games rooms, promoting wellbeing and community among residents. Infrastructure improvements include a new road and upgraded pedestrian and cycle access, which will improve links to the surrounding neighbourhood.
From a construction management perspective, delivering a project of this scale in a rapidly evolving area like Stratford requires meticulous coordination of design, logistics, and stakeholder engagement. Integrating residential, commercial, and public realm elements demands careful sequencing to minimise disruption and ensure quality outcomes. Effective collaboration with local authorities and transport providers is essential to align infrastructure enhancements with broader urban development plans.
Atico Solutions recognises that successful construction management in such complex urban settings hinges on proactive planning and adaptive problem-solving. By anticipating challenges and fostering strong partnerships, projects like this can progress smoothly, delivering lasting benefits to both residents and the wider community.
