The new Liebherr 195 HC-LH crane offers advanced technology and flexible operation for complex urban construction sites.
City Lifting has taken delivery of the UK’s first Liebherr 195 HC-LH luffing jib tower crane, marking a significant development for construction projects in Essex and the wider Home Counties. This crane is designed to excel in constrained urban environments, with a minimum working radius of just three metres and an out-of-service height under 10 metres, making it particularly suited to densely built areas common across London and its surrounding counties.
From a construction management perspective, the crane’s advanced hydraulic luffing system allows for rapid, precise movements, enhancing site safety and operational efficiency. The Load-Plus feature, which temporarily boosts lifting capacity by up to 25 per cent, offers valuable flexibility when handling heavier loads without needing additional equipment. Moreover, the Liebherr Tower Crane OS provides intuitive controls and improved oversight, helping to streamline crane operation on complex projects.
Logistically, the crane’s transportability on only four vehicles reduces disruption in busy city centres, while its relatively light components facilitate faster and safer assembly using smaller assist cranes. City Lifting’s collaborative familiarisation programme with Liebherr ensures technicians are well-prepared to operate and maintain the crane, minimising potential delays during commissioning and ongoing use.
At Atico Solutions, we recognise how integrating such innovative plant can significantly benefit project delivery in London and the Home Counties. Effective construction management that embraces new technology and thorough operator training is essential to navigate the challenges of urban sites, helping projects progress smoothly from planning through to completion.
